Motorcyclists hospitalised after road accidents
A 36-year-old Pembroke man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with head injuries after a collision with a car.According to Police, the motorcyclist was riding along Middle Road, in Devonshire, on Friday, when his vehicle struck a car which was travelling along Chaingate Hill.When Police arrived at the scene at 4.20pm, they found the driver of the car, a 40-year-old Warwick man, was uninjured, but the rider of the motorcycle had sustained head injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.The injuries are not believed to be life threatening.A Police spokesman said the car received minor damage in the collision but damage to the motorcycle was extensive.Witnesses are asked to contact PC Tyrone Fox at 295-0011.There was also a collision between a car and a motorcycle on Saturday, which left a Paget man with head injuries.According to a police spokesman, at around 7.05pm, officers responded to a reported collision between two vehicles at the junction of Middle Road and Hermitage Road in Devonshire.“It appears that both vehicles were travelling along Middle Road when they collided,” the spokesman said.“The rider of the motorcycle, a 43-year-old Paget man, sustained a head injury. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and later released.“The driver of the car, a 34-year-old Devonshire woman, was not injured.”Police said the damaged suffered by both vehicles was relatively minor.lUseful website: www.bps.bm.
