Watch out for phony survey callers, Police warn
Residents have been advised to be careful about allowing persons into their homes for unsolicited work.
Police today reported a number of complaints from residents who have recently been approached about an alleged sustainable energy survey.
Said a Police spokesman: “Apparently the caller claims that they need to come to the individual's home to look at the property and give advice. We continue to recommend that members of the public receiving these phone calls or similar phone calls ask for the caller's name, phone number and credentials to verify if the call is genuine.
“If an unsolicited individual does attend your property, ask for official identification and verify with the appropriate company. If at any time you are unsure about the person's intentions, do not let them in your home.”
