Manhunt underway for stabbing suspect

Scott's Hill Road in Sandys was today cordoned off at the junction with Pleasantview Lane following the stabbing of a 58-year-old man this afternoon.

A manhunt is underway in a Sandys neigbourhood this afternoon for a man who stabbed another man multiple times.According to Police spokesman Dwayne Caines the stabbing took place outside a residence on Pleasantville Lane which is off Scott's Hill Road.Mr Caines said: "It appears that an altercation took place between two men, a 58-year-old man and a 26-year-old man. This resulted in the 58-year-old being taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for what appears to be multiple stab wounds."Mr Caines said the incident took place a few minutes before 12.30. He would not comment on whether the two men were known to one another but confirmed that police are currently searching for the culprit. He would not give a description of the suspect but when asked if the man was armed and dangerous replied: "We are advising the public that caution should be exercised if coming into contact with the individual."Mr Caines said the suspect fled on foot and officers are searching a mile wide radius for him.He would give no further details at this stage however Scott's Hill Road is cordoned off at the junction of Pleasantville Lane.Traffic is being diverted away from the area. Officers from the Scenes of Crime Unit are present at the scene.
