Stabbing suspect arrested

Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the stabbing of a 57-year-old man over the weekend.l

Following a manhunt at the West End, 26-year-old Shiloh Payne was found at a Sandys residence at 6am yesterday and arrested without incident.

Randy Thompson, of Scott's Hill Road, Sandys, was stabbed multiple times following an altercation around 12.30pm on Sunday. He is said to be in stable condition in intensive care at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

A family member said he had been responsive when he arrived at the hospital, shortly after his attack at 12.30pm, but that the family has no comment at this time.

Mr Payne also resides at Scott's Hill Road, and the incident occurred outdoors, near to the home he shares with his mother, Jody Payne. The two men are said to be acquainted with one another.

Mr Payne was said to have left the scene of the attack on foot, leading to an extensive police search for him.

Anyone with information is asked to ring the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit at 234 1010.
