Residents aid Japan

Residents have donated nearly $72,000 to the Bermuda Red Cross Japan Appeal.

Premier Paula Cox said the amount raised in the first week of the appeal had more than matched Government's commitment of $50,000 to Japan.

“The generosity is in character with the values of our community, and is greatly appreciated,” Ms Cox said.

Donations go to the Japanese Red Cross, which is leading the organisation's response in the country.
