The Bermuda Sloop Foundation was given $100,000 toward its youth programmes aboard the Spirit of Bermuda.Validus Group’s donation was hailed as “extremely significant” by the Foundation’s Malcolm Kirkland. The Spirit is under regular use by the Island’s students. Validus Group CEO Conan Ward said that the challenges of life at sea had a tremendous impact on youngsters.He said: “We are proud to be associated with a programme that accomplishes so much for our community, all in the context of Bermuda’s rich sea-faring tradition.”
