26-year-old man charged with stabbing

A man accused of stabbing his 57-year-old neighbour has been charged in Magistrates’ Court.Shiloh Payne, 26, was charged this morning with intentionally causing grievous bodily harm to Randy Thompson on March 20, in Sandys.Mr Payne, of Sandys, has also been charged with public possession of a sharp pointed article on Pleasantville Lane, which is within 300 metres of West End Primary School and therefore an increased penalty zone.Mr Payne, represented by defence lawyer Richard Horseman, was not required to enter a plea, as his case must be dealt with by the Supreme Court.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded Mr Payne into custody. He will return to court on April 14, when a date for trial will be set.Mr Thompson remains in hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition on a general ward.
