Movie marks anniversary of Dodge Morgan’s epic voyage

Twenty-five years ago today an American broke records by sailing solo, non-stop across the world starting and ending his journey in Bermuda.Dodge Morgan, who became the first American to circumnavigate the world on his own, completed his journey on April 11, 1986, at the age of 53.The voyage aboard the specially-designed 60ft cutter American Promise, was completed in a record-breaking 150 days, one hour and six minutes.Mr Morgan died last September aged 78, but his adventure lives on through documentary ‘Around Alone’, which he produced himself using hand-held cameras.
