OHMS on mailed shopping brochure was a mistake

Error: The shopping coupon brochure that was sent out labelled OHMS, on Her Majesty’s Service, by mistake.

A booklet of coupons sent across the Island was mistakenly labelled OHMS, suggesting that the book was produced or distributed by Government. The abbreviation OHMS stands for ‘on Her (or His) Majesty’s Service’.However, management at AdVangate Ltd, who produced the Clip n’ Save book, said the printing was only an error and that no taxpayer money was spent on creating or mailing it.Sharon Azab-Jones, Senior Accountant Manager at AdVantage said: “We simply duplicated what had been printed on an earlier brochure that had been produced in conjunction with the General Post Office, and therefore funded by Government.“The Clip n’ Save booklet is a completely private initiative and we paid in full to have it delivered to every household at the bulk delivery rate, so the Government and taxpayer money has had nothing whatsoever with the publication and distribution of it.”The booklet, which features numerous coupons for local businesses ranging from furniture stores to groceries, is the first in what AdVantage hope to be a series of booklets.Senior Vice President of AdVantage Susan Tang-Peters has said that the booklets will initially be released every other month, with distribution increasing over time should they prove successful. The coupons are also available at the Clip n’ Save Facebook page.Useful website: www.clipnsavebermuda.com.
