Hogges clinch first win of season

Bermuda Hogges 2 Westchester Flames 1Keishen Bean and Kwame Steede were on target as Bermuda Hogges clinched their first win of the season over Westchester Flames at BAA Field.Hogges goalkeeper Tahj Bell pulled off a pair of superb saves late on– the first from the penalty spot – to help hand Maurice Lowe his first win as the team's coach. The hosts, without a win from seven games, opened the scoring on 16 minutes when skipper Bean fired home from close range after collecting a fine through ball from Steede.Hogges' lead was short-lived, however, when Jake Keegan waltzed his way through a clutch of defenders before dispatching a shot past Bell from the edge of the area a minute later. On the stroke of half-time Hogges restored their advantage when Casey Castle showed good perseverance to feed Steede, who rifled in a shot past Flames' keeper Greg Crumpstore.Lowe's side endured a nervy finale with Roger Lee being dismissed for a clumsy challenge on Keegan in the 84th minute to concede a penalty.Fortunately for Hogges, Bell picked the right way to dive to deny Keegan's spot kick before reeling off a match-winning save from Jake Maley's injury time effort.
