Critically-injured diver dies
A father-of-four who was critically injured after diving off a cliff at Admiralty House Park has died.Police confirmed the death of Bilal Furqan this evening.The 41-year-old was jumping off the rocks into the water at Admiralty House Park around 5.37pm on Saturday, when he was knocked unconscious.Said a Police spokesman: “As a result he was pulled to the beach by family members and members of the public. An off-duty EMT and nurse began to perform CPR and they managed to get Mr Furqan breathing, however he remained unconscious. The pair continued CPR until the paramedics arrived. Mr Furqan was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he remained until he was pronounced dead today.”Witnesses are asked to contact police on 295-0011.The spokesman continued: “The Bermuda Police Service extends our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Mr Furqan.”
