Teenager on trial accused of firearm and burglary charges

The trial of a 17-year-old accused of possessing a firearm and committing aggravated burglary will now begin tomorrow in Supreme Court.Leo Burgess has been charged with robbing a South Road home with a firearm on December 6, 2010, stealing money and jewellery, and possessing a firearm while under the age of 18.He has pleaded not guilty to both charges.It had been thought the trial would start his afternoon, but one of the selected jury members had to be dismissed.Defence lawyer Shade Subair represents Mr Burgess, while prosecutor Nicole Smith will represent the Crown.
