Khano strikes twice to earn Hogges draw

Keishen Bean (front) celebrates scoring Hogges' opener with Khano Smith

Bermuda Hogges 3 Central Jersey 3Former MLS winger Khano Smith struck a late penalty to earn Bermuda Hogges a share of the spoils against Central Jersey at BAA Field.Smith, making his home debut, kept his nerve from the spot-kick which was awarded after an unfair challenge on substitute Lashun Dill.Hogges made a strong start the game, scoring twice inside the opening 25 minutes through skipper Keishen Bean and Smith, again from the spot.On that occasion, it was Hogges winger Damon Ming who won the penalty after being blatantly pushed over by Jersey goalkeeper Paul Carr.Jersey pulled themselves back on level terms before the midway point courtesy of strikes from Bonny Londono and Antoine Hoppenot. The visitors then took the lead with 20 minutes remaining through sub Chris Benedict, who was the beneficiary of more slack Hogges defending. But as full-time loomed, Hogges fought back on level terms with Smith showing nerves of steel from the penalty spot to earn the hosts a well-deserved draw.
