Bermuda slump to defeat at hands of USA

First Prev 1 Next Last

Bermuda slumped to a seven-wicket defeat against USA yesterday in their final game in the ICC Americas Division One tournament in Florida.Lionel Cann once again top-scored for Bermuda, but even his brisk 32 wasn't enough to help David Moore's side to a decent total.Of the rest, only David Hemp (18) and Dennico Hollis (10) managed to get into double-figures while spinners Muhammad Ghous, Bhim George, and Samarth Shah all took two wickets apiece as Bermuda crawled to 91 for seven from their 20 overs.USA briefly wobbled in reply, and were 47 for three at one stage after Joshua Gilbert had removed both Aditya Mishra and Steve Massiah cheaply to add to Damali Bell's earlier wicket. That was as good as it got for Bermuda however, and opener Sushil Nadkarni, who was unbeaten on 39 at the end, guided his side to victory with four overs to spare.
