Teenager arrested after bus and bike crash

A 15-year-old has been arrested after a motorbike crashed into a bus.The incident happened on Friday, but police released details today.A spokesman said: “Around 2.15pm on Friday, July 22, police and first responders attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Ord Road and Cobbs Hill Road, in Paget, involving an auxiliary cycle and a Bermuda Gas truck.“It appears that the auxiliary cycle was traveling along Cobbs Hill Road and the Bermuda Gas truck was travelling along Ord Road when the vehicles collided at the junction. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 15-year-old young man from Warwick, sustained minor injuries as a result.“He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and later released. The truck driver was not injured. The teenager was subsequently arrested on suspicion of taking the auxiliary cycle without the owner’s consent and driving whilst disqualified by reason of age. He has been released on police bail while inquiries into this incident are ongoing.”
