A 26-year old man was charged in Magistrates’ Court this morning with possessing a semi-automatic pistol and three rounds of 9mm ammunition.Appearing in custody, Gladstone Butterfield remained silent throughout proceedings.He was not required to enter a plea as the charges against him are indictable only, and must be heard by the Supreme Court.Mr Butterfield was arrested in the early hours on Sunday morning near the Fairmont Southampton Princess hotel.Following bail arguments, Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded Mr Butterfield until August 10, when he is expected to return to court for a mention.
