Bermudian joins MWI staff as medical physician
A Bermudian doctor has returned from her studies in the United States to join the staff at the Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute.Ayesha Peets Talbot earned her medical degree at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she also completed her residency.Dr Peets Talbot has been appointed the medical physician for service users at MWI, where she is diagnosing and treating patients for acute and chronic medical problems such as asthma, obesity, diabetes and hypertension.“I am extremely pleased to welcome back another bright, young, Bermudian physician. The Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB) actively mentors and recruits Bermudian medical students and doctors working aboard,” said Dr Donald Thomas III, the chief of staff at MWI, in a press release.Dr Peets Talbot, who is in private practice in addition to her duties at MWI, said she was very happy to be working in Bermuda. “Working with people who have psychiatric illnesses and chronic medical problems can be challenging, but I enjoy my work at MWI and appreciate being part of a team that provides the best care for service users,” she said.
