Injured police officer gets further treatment in Boston

A Police Inspector who was hit by a car in the course of his duties on Friday October 14 is in Boston seeking further medical treatment.Insp Troy Glasgow suffered arm injuries when the vehicle was allegedly driven at him by a man trying to escape arrest in Warwick.He needed surgery and was kept in King Edward VII Memorial until Tuesday.He is now being treated as an outpatient at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, according to a family member, and is waiting to learn the extent of his injuries.The officer, who has served Bermuda Police Service for 19 years, is married with one daughter. He is known as an avid sportsman who once represented the Island in the high jump.The alleged driver of the car, Aswad Wilson, 27, from Warwick, was charged on Monday with committing assault in a bid to resist arrest and escaping lawful custody. He denied the charges and was remanded into custody until his trial in December.
