Thieves make off with woman’s groceries

Thieves stole groceries from a Hamilton Parish woman as she left a supermarket on Thursday.

The 48-year-old woman was not hurt in the incident, which occurred around 10.20pm, according to a Police spokesman.

“It appears that a female employee of the grocery store was accosted by two unknown men in the store’s parking lot,” he said.

“The assailants took a quantity of groceries as well as a black and maroon-coloured purse containing a mobile phone and personal items before making good their escape.”

The suspects are described as measuring approximately 5ft 5in to 5ft 7in.

Both were said to be of slim build and wearing black jackets and blue jeans at the time of the theft.

Added the spokesman: “Both suspects were wearing full-face helmets with dark-coloured visors; one of the helmets was black while the other was red.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Jason Trott of the St George’s Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222.
