73-year-old pleads not guilty to sexual exploitation

A 73-year-old this morning denied repeatedly sexually exploiting a young girl over the course of five years.The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to four counts of sexually exploiting a young person under the age of 14.Magistrates’ Court heard the complainant, who also cannot be named, is now ten years old.The first of the incidents are alleged to have taken place between February 6, 2005, and December 31, 2006, while the most recent offence was said to have taken place between July 1 and August 6 of this year.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded the defendant until December 29, when he is expected to return to Magistrates’ Court for trial.
