Motorcyclist critical after crash with bus

A 41-year-old man is in a critical condition in intensive care after a road crash this morning.

Police were a called to the crash, on Middle Road, Southampton, near Five Star Island, involving a motorcycle and a bus, at 7.20am today.

A Police spokesman said: “The rider of the motorcycle, a 41-year-old Hamilton Parish man, sustained head injuries and was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance.

“At last check, he was listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit. No one else was reported injured.

“Traffic was diverted away from the scene for approximately two hours. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.

“The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for any witnesses, in particular the rider of a second motorcycle which was believed to be in the area around the time of the collision, to contact Pc Bianca Glasford at the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.”
