Berkeley students disciplined

Several schoolboys are to be disciplined after being involved in a lunchtime fight at the Berkeley Institute.

The fight broke out between the boys, who all go to the school, during the lunch period on Monday. The brawl was “quickly resolved” but Principal Michelle Simmons said negative situations were to be expected as the school was “a microcosm of the broader society”.

Ms Simmons said the Berkeley Institute continued to operate “a safe and productive learning environment”.
