MEF Group pleased with the performance of its new Bermuda recruits
The MEF group is working to hire Bermudians, despite the challenging economic climate.An MEF spokesman said yesterday that along with sponsoring employment fairs, the company has put an emphasis on hiring locals 80 Bermudians in 2011, around 70 percent of whom are still employed with the company.It has also reinstituted two culinary arts scholarships at the Bermuda College and sponsored one student to study in the UK.Dale Butler, the group’s Director of Training, said: “New recruits have been welcomed and assisted by experienced staff and have been given industry standards.“Those with a good attitude and see hospitality as a career continue to enjoy their work experience and this bodes well for the industry.”He said the Bermudian hires have been doing very well, and have impressed the group overall with their drive to achieve the high standards necessary for the industry.
