The Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre will offer free health screenings for men next week, thanks to funds raised by the 2011 Movember Campaign.The Centre announced yesterday that on Thursday, February 2, between noon and 6pm, the Centre will be offering free screenings, including blood glucose, blood pressure, body composition and lung function at the Number Six Shed on Front Street.Physicians and nutritionists will be available for brief consultation.A spokeswoman for the Centre said: “These health screenings will be performed by professional staff, who can also answer your questions about men’s health.“Encourage your husband, father, brother and any other man who is important in your life to attend this free event.”Movember is an international campaign in which men promise to grow a moustache during November to raise donations and awareness of men’s health issues.The 2011 campaign in Bermuda raised a total of $64,000, with 162 “MoBros” taking part.Useful websites: www.cancer.bm, www.movember.com.
