A pink cockatoo feared stolen from WindReach Recreational Village was found near the facility.Erica Fulton, executive director of the charity, received a call about Rosemary’s whereabouts yesterday morning.“Someone found her near WindReach last week,” she said. “He has had her since then. He knew she was tame and belonged to someone, but he had no idea how to go around finding her owner.“He had almost driven over her. We still have no idea what happened or how she got out though.”The cockatoo, which was on loan to the WindReach petting zoo, was first noticed missing last Wednesday morning.Staff feared the bird had been stolen.Ms Fulton thanked the community, particularly the man who found Rosemary, for their efforts in helping to locate the bird, saying: “There was a real concerted community effort, and we really, really appreciate it.”
