Heavy truck knocks down tree on Reid Street
Updated: Mar 02, 2012 07:51 AM
Reid Street workers were calling it a hit and run, after an early morning truck sideswiped a heavy-trunked tree and brought it crashing down into the street.
“The truck just bounced off it and cracked it, then drove off, and it fell,” said Electronic City worker Justin Skinner.
Across the road, a receptionist at Eden Hair, Face and Body guessed the crash came a little after 8am.
“I heard a loud band,” she said. “I came out and the tree was across the road. The truck slowed down and then kept going.”
City of Hamilton workers arrived with chainsaws and removed the debris from Reid Street.
