Burland books go to College

Bermuda College will today receive the entire collection of Brian Burland’s literary works at a special handover ceremony at the College Library.

The College was selected as recipient of the works by family members of Mr Burland who died in 2010.

Mr Burland authored eight published books, and is probably Bermuda’s most widely acclaimed author.

His first published work was the 1964 “St Nicholas and the Tub”, an illustrated children’s book, followed by “A Fall from Aloft” in 1968. “A Few Flowers for St George”, in 1970 followed and a year later his “Undertow” was published.

In 1973, what was probably his best known work “The Sailor and the Fox” was published. And another novel, ”Love is a Durable Fire” came out in 1985.

Family and friends of Mr Burland will be in attendance at today’s handover ceremony.
