Mould forces St George’s fire station closure
Updated: Mar 30, 2012 09:17 AM
St George's fire station has closed due to problems with mould, chief fire officer Vincent Hollinsid told a public meeting last night.
Mr Hollinsid said St George’s Island will be served from Clearwater fire station in St David's while a clean-up operation takes place.
He said an assessment of the St George's building, used by volunteers, revealed it is in poor condition, with inadequate ventilation and a leaking roof.
St George's will be served promptly and efficiently from Clearwater until further notice, he said.
