Bound man rescued by officers

A man was discovered with his hands and feet bound, and wrapped in a sheet by officers on patrol.Police spotted three men carrying "a long object" in the North Shore Road, East Park Lane, Pembroke area, around 1.40am on Saturday.The men dropped the object once they noticed the officers.Said a Police spokesman: "The officers turned around to investigate further but the men made off from the area. The officers discovered a man, bound by his hands and feet and wrapped in a sheet, left behind on the sidewalk."The 50-year-old man, a resident from the area, fortunately was not injured. The three suspects were not located despite a thorough search of the area, but various items have been collected that are being examined for fingerprints and DNA."The spokesman continued: "It is unclear how the man came to be in this condition as his recollection of events is vague. It is also unclear what the motive of the three men may have been, and the police are therefore in need of help from the public to get to the bottom of this unusual incident."Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 247-1744.
