Police identify 25-year-old found dead last Thursday

Police have released the identity of the 25-year-old man found dead last Thursday at his home on Shaw Wood Crescent in Pembroke. He is well-known fitness instructor John Pitt.Mr Pitt’s lifeless body was found around 2.30 Thursday, June 14.A police spokesman confirmed “an autopsy has been conducted by a forensic pathologist, and the findings have been shared with the family of Mr Pitt”.Mr Pitt was well-known in the local fitness community having worked at the Olympic Club, Magnum Power Force Gym and most recently at MBS Fitness.A spokeswoman at MBS said: “John was a great spinning class instructor who had a big following. Everyone enjoyed his classes.“We were very saddened to hear of his death and on behalf of all of us here at MBS we send our heartfelt condolences to his family,” she said.Mr Pitt was pronounced dead at the scene by an on-call doctor.The police spokesman added: “The results of the autopsy are subject to consideration by the Coroner, thus will not be released publicly.”And he extended condolences to the family and friends of Mr Pitt “at this tragic time” on behalf of the Bermuda Police Service.
