Weekend street closures announced

Repaving works, a crane and a fashion show are set to cause several street closures in Hamilton this weekend.According to a City of Hamilton spokeswoman, the section of Front Street between Parliament and King Streets will be closed between 7am on Saturday and 7pm on Sunday for repaving.Traffic travelling east will be diverted onto Parliament Street, while traffic leading into the city will be diverted up Spurling’s Hill to Reid Street.Meanwhile, Church Street between Queen Street and Cedar Avenue will be closed to all traffic between 3pm on Saturday and 6am on Sunday for the Evolution Fashion Show, which will take place on the steps of City Hall.Dismont Drive and the parking lot behind City Hall will also be closed for the event. Those who wish to attend the fashion show are advised to park at Bulls Head or the Par-la-Ville car parks.Another road closure will also take place on Sunday, with Cedar Avenue between Church and Victoria Streets closing between 6am and 9am so a crane can operate in the area.
