BHB appoints new chief of HR

Christine Lloyd-Jennings has been appointed Bermuda Hospitals Board's new chief of HR.

The Bermuda Hospitals Board named Christine Lloyd-Jennings as their new chief of human resources yesterday.Ms Lloyd-Jennings is from the United Kingdom, where she has worked in multiple divisions of the National Health Service. Before taking the job with the BHB, she was the HR Transition Programme and Operations Director for the Department of Health in the UK. In total, she has over 15 years of experience in human resource management in the healthcare field.Ms Lloyd-Jennings is taking over from Paul Jones, who has been serving as interim chief of human resources since 2011.As chief of human resources, Ms Lloyd-Jennings will be responsible for recruitment, organisational development, student and volunteer services and training.Ms Lloyd-Jennings graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the Open University in the UK. She also has a diploma in personnel management and postgraduate certificate in professional management from the University of Portsmouth.Ms Venetta Symonds, chief executive officer of the BHB, said of the new chief of human resources: “Ms Lloyd-Jennings joins us with an exemplary record and proven experience in implementing improvements that support staff and leadership in the delivery of high quality patient care.“Our preparations for the transfer of acute care operations into the new facility in 2014 have a critical HR component that includes ensuring the correct skills mix in all functions, training staff in new procedures, and generally engaging and preparing the workforce for this major change.“We require a Chief of HR with exceedingly strong, proven strategic and operational expertise, both of which Ms Lloyd-Jennings brings with her.”
