Have you seen Bella the Boxer?

Bella, “a very mild-mannered Boxer wearing a purple and green invisible fence collar” disappeared from her home in Fairylands, Mill Shares and Point Shares neighbourhoods on August 14. Bella has a distinct white marking behind her right ear which runs into her white chest, and while her ears are not cropped, her tail has been docked. If you have seen Bella, you can reach owner Donna Pearman at the People’s Pharmacy at 295-9285, or 338-9285.

A family has launched a public appeal in hopes of finding their beloved Boxer Bella, who disappeared in the middle of a thunderstorm.Donna Pearman and her daughter Tamara Richardson placed an ad in The Royal Gazette in hopes of finding the ten-year-old dog, last seen in their Pembroke yard on August 14.According to Ms Pearman, she thought nothing of leaving Bella and her brother Raja alone, as the area is protected by invisible fencing.Raja returned into the house at the end of their playtime but Bella didn’t join him.“I assumed that she preferred to stay in the kennel and would show up at the door later,” Ms Pearman said. “I kept checking throughout the night to no avail. I felt it was odd but still expected that she was in her kennel.”The People’s Pharmacy owner became concerned when Bella didn’t show up the next morning.“I took Raja off the property to see if he could pick up her trail and have taken him almost everyday since.“We have covered all nearby areas and I have sent e-mails to all neighbours (in our neighbourhood watch group).“The whole neighbourhood — Fairylands, Mill Shares and Point Shares — has been looking out for her and have assisted with putting up posters and simply offering their support and advice.”Friends, family, staff at Peoples’ Pharmacy and even strangers, have called offering help and support, she added.Bella is described as a short-haired dog with fawn-coloured hair.Said Ms Pearman: “She has a distinct white marking behind her right ear which runs into her white chest.“Her ears are not cropped but her tail has been docked. She is a medium-size dog and has a stocky build.”She said Bella and Raja joined the family when they were three months old. Bred locally by Noel Cann, they have never been separated. “They were specifically chosen as a breed because they make wonderful family pets. I now have five grandchildren, the youngest being one-and-a-half years old and the eldest being 17, and they all miss Bella,” said Ms Pearman.Since Bella’s disappearance, Raja has been “extremely depressed” and has spent most of his time sleeping unless out on walks.Said Ms Pearman: “He now wants to go everywhere with us and is struggling to get into the car whenever we are leaving home.”She added: “My family continues to hope that we shall find [Bella] or that she will show up at either her new home or her home of nine years in Hamilton Parish.“If anyone comes across a very mild-mannered boxer wearing a purple and green invisible fence collar, please call me immediately.“I can be reached at People’s Pharmacy at 295-9285, or 338-9285. We all want Bella home now.”
