Pedestrian hit by car at busy intersection

A pedestrian struck by a car in Hamilton was rushed to hospital this week — alongside the woman who was driving the car.According to a Police Spokesman, at around 2.30pm on Thursday officers responded to a report of a collision at the intersection of Church Street and Parliament Street.“It appears that a car collided with a pedestrian at that location,” the spokesman said.“The pedestrian, a 37-year-old Smith’s parish woman, apparently received no serious injuries but was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for medical assessment.“The car driver, a 77-year-old Warwick woman, was reportedly in shock following the incident and was also taken to hospital via ambulance for medical assessment.”Both women were released from hospital later that day with no serious injuries. Police are still investigating the incident.
