Bermudian student will be at final Obama-Romney debate

Tonight’s showdown between US President Barack Obama and contender Mitt Romney is sure to be watched by millions — but Bermudian Amanda Spencer has scored a ringside seat.A senior at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, where the third and final debate happens tonight in the Hold Performing Arts Centre, Ms Spencer found out yesterday that as a student she’d won a ticket to the audience. An unabashed Obama supporter, Ms Spencer said: “I’m really excited for it — there was so much tension the last time.“In the first debate Obama didn’t do so well. He came back so much better in the second.”Hosting the debate has drawn investment, excitement and legions of press to the university. Winning a place in the auditorium got Ms Spencer on last night’s Channel Ten news in Miami, she said.
