Govt works to fix child support payments problem
The Ministry of Justice is working to fix technical problems that have resulted in child support payments being delayed. The Royal Gazette reported yesterday on complaints from mothers who have been left without money due to a hitch with a new Magistrates’ Court computer system.A Ministry spokeswoman yesterday declined to say how many parents have been affected. However, she apologised for the inconvenience.“The court’s new Judicial Enforcement Management System was rolled out October 6. All case types with the exception of Family Court cases converted with ease,” she said.“As it currently stands, the Ministry is working to rectify some technical issues with the Family Court aspect of the system and is reviewing each case closely. Those who are affected are encouraged to continue to liaise with the Family Court so that they can be kept abreast of the latest developments.”
