Sandy appeal launched
The Bermuda Red Cross is launching a cash appeal to help countries affected by Hurricane Sandy.Caribbean countries Haiti, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Cuba, along with the US were hit hard by the storm that wreaked havoc in the Atlantic Ocean.At least 134 lives have been lost, extensive flooding, damaged buildings, and thousand of people homeless as result of the devastation.“Across all these countries, the Red Cross is providing people with essentials including water, food, healthcare and shelter,” said a spokesperson for the charity.“We are calling for funds to help countries that have been significantly affected by the storm.
