Adventists, CableVision unite to host a Christmas lunch for needy families

Bermuda CableVision and the Hamilton Seventh-day Adventist Church have again teamed up to host Christmas lunch for families who could not otherwise afford it.The lunch will be served from 1pm until 3pm on December 25 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church on King Street. The church hall can accommodate up to 200 families, and the menu is being planned for a full house.A CableVision spokeswoman said: “Recognising the continued level of need in the community since last year’s event, CableVision stepped in to sponsor the Christmas luncheon once again, donating funds to purchase the food, while CableVision employees have enthusiastically volunteered to assist the church members in serving the meals.“The luncheon will feature the full traditional Bermuda Christmas menu, with turkey and all the trimmings, as well as savoury vegetarian dishes, and a selection of holiday desserts.”Pastor Kenneth Manders of the Hamilton Seventh-day Adventist Church added: “It is our joy to partner with Cablevision, the proud sponsors of this special Christmas community event.“I cannot think of any better way that our church can share God’s joy on Christmas Day, than to welcome our community to a place at our table. Come dine with us, and be blessed.“Thank you Cablevision for being part of this great vision to connect with the needs of our community, as we share the joy of Christmas.”Volunteers and interested persons should phone the church office on 292-4276.
