Hungover, got the munchies, gas tank needs a top-up or simply just don’t feel like cooking on New Year’s Day? The Royal Gazette offers a roundup of some of the stores, gas stations and restaurants that will be open to serve you:Arnold’s Markets are open on New Year’s Day. The Maximart in Sandys is open from 1pm to 6pm; Arnold’s Express on Front Street from 9am to 9pm; Arnold’s Liquors in Sandys from 10am to 7pm; the Supermarket in Sandys from 9am to 9pm; Arnold’s Family Market in Pembroke from 9am to noon.The Phoenix Centre is open from noon to 6pm; the Collector’s Hill Pharmacy from 11am to 7pm and Paget Pharmacy from 10am until 6pm.Robinson’s Marina and Dowlings Marine Rubis gas stations are open from 8am to 5pm; Rubis’ East Broadway location is open from 9am to 4pm; Van Buren’s gas station in Flatts is open from 7am until 9pm.Terceira’s North Shore is open from 9am until 4pm and Rubis’ Warwick Gas Station from 10am until 11pm.The following branches of Esso gas stations are also open: the Warwick branch will operate from 8am until 10pm; Terceira’s in Southampton from 7am to 7pm; BIU from 8am until midnight; Esso City Tigermarket from 6am until 11pm; Collector’s Hill 8am until 11pm; Crawl Hill 6am until 10pm; St George’s 10am until 2pm.The only branch of the Island Restaurant Group that is open is the Pickled Onion. The restaurant will serve lunch from 11.30am until 5pm and dinner from 5.30pm until 10pm. The other venues — Barracuda Grill, Hog Penny, and Victoria Grill are closed.Bermuda Bistro at the Beach on Front Street is open from 9am until 3am. Flanagan’s on Front Street opens from 11am until 9pm and the Frog and Onion in Dockyard from 1pm until 6pm.Bouchée Restaurant on Pitt’s Bay Road will offer breakfast from 12.30am until 12.30pm on New Year’s Day. No reservations are required and food is also available for take-out. Their breakfast menu is on their website at www.bouchee.bm; a codfish breakfast will also be available.There will also be a New Year's Day brunch at Harley’s Restaurant at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess hotel between 12 noon and 4pm at a cost of $49 per person.
