Belco line down near Sunset Pass

A live wire sparking in North Shore Road has residents directing traffic while they wait for the cable to be switched off.

The fallen wire, just east of Sunset Pass, has been crackling and flashing since 5.15pm, causing panicked neighbours to keep onlookers back.

A Belco crew arrived shortly after 6pm. The line is said to be a temporary line put up for construction. Power has just been turned off as of 6.10pm.
