Govt launches website for jobseekers in civil service

A new Department of Human Resources website is to streamline procedures for Government job seekers.Starting April 1, applicants for civil service positions will be able to submit online, without paper — though some exceptions will still apply. The Human Resources Information Management System (HRIMS) allows applicants to upload a personal profile, to be stored in the system.Personal contact information, qualifications, experience, and work history can be saved and updated over time.Applicants, locally and overseas, can then view jobs as they are advertised and submit their information with a click. The system is expected to bring hiring time down to ten weeks, on average, for local recruitment, and 12 weeks for recruitment from abroad. The Government system will retain the details of unsuccessful candidates — allowing Human Resources to search the database for potential candidates, if similar posts become available elsewhere. Not all positions advertised in the Official Gazette will be compatible with the system. If a post is advertised on paper but not listed on the Careers site, applications for the job will have to be submitted manually or as instructed. The system will also enable Human Resources to supply staff with feedback and talent management.Useful website: www.govtcareers.gov.bm
