Negotiations between Government and the Trade Union Congress over how to curb the cost of the public sector continue next week.The talks got underway on Monday and officials have agreed to maintain strict confidentiality.About half of the $1 billion cost of operating the Government goes to wages and salaries.Government has increased the debt ceiling by $1 billion — to $2.5 billion — but is hoping to reduce the debt over time, increase revenues and cut costs.
