Taxi damaged, rider hurt in separate accidents

A pair of early morning collisions left one Devonshire man in hospital and a second with an extensively damaged taxi.According to a police spokesman, around 12.45am on Monday, officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on North Shore Road in Devonshire, near the junction with Barkers Hill.The spokesman said the 57-year-old taxi driver suffered minor injuries after his car hit a wall and overturned.Around two hours later police and paramedics attended the scene of a serious single-vehicle collision near the junction of Middle Road and South Road in Paget.A 37-year-old Devonshire man was taken to hospital after hitting a wall. His the front-end of his motorcycle was damaged.At last check the victim was in stable condition at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. The motorcycle received front end damage.Anyone with information about either collision is asked to contact the police at 295-0011.
