Traffic was diverted in Hamilton yesterday after a tractor trailer knocked a utility pole from its foundation.

The accident happened on the corner of Court and Reid Streets around 9am, a police spokesman said.

“As a safety precaution, the area was cordoned off and traffic was diverted until police officers and Belco workers were able to neutralise the situation and repair the damage.

“No one was injured and normal traffic flow resumed as of 9.15am.”
