Constituents of Pembroke Central will host a Pembroke Community Festival at Victoria Park on Saturday featuring live entertainment and a host of vendors from 10am to 8pm.Progressive Labour Party member Ricardo Nesbitt came up with the concept to provide a low-cost fun atmosphere geared for families and provide an opportunity for vendors to grow their businesses at the same time.With the blessing of area MP Walton Brown Jr, he said the event represents “community empowerment”.“I would like to encourage people to become entrepreneurs to use their passion and talent to raise money,” said Mr Nesbitt.He noted that a number of PLParty representatives have extended support for the event. And with the backing of the City of Hamilton, Victoria Park was selected as the ideal venue.Mr Brown said: “It’s open to everyone, and we expect all will have a great time.”The entertainment line up includes appearances by James Richardson and Yellow Brick Road, Joy Barnum, Spring Flower, Ronae Burgess, also known as ‘Slanger’, the Somerset Brigade Band and others.
