Belco surveys overhead power lines
Belco crews are surveying the Island’s overhead power lines to update the company’s geographical information system database. The survey is expected to last six weeks.A Belco spokeswoman said: “To access poles, Belco crews may need to enter private property in some areas. Residents are asked to keep dogs restrained, so that crews may complete the survey. Residents will be contacted to arrange access if surveyors have been unable to access a property.“Belco wishes to advise the public that its surveyors may be driving private vehicles or company trucks, and can be identified by their Belco work clothing and company ID cards.”Surveys will be conducted during normal working hours, Mondays through Fridays. The project is scheduled for completion around Labour Day.
