US Consulate to screen ‘The March’

The US Consulate will host a public showing of “The March” next Wednesday at the Bermuda National Library, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.A defining event in the civil rights movement, the march included Martin Luther King’s landmark “I Have a Dream” speech.US Consul General Bob Settje called the 1963 gathering “one of the largest political rallies for human rights in US history”.From 6pm, the library will take 50 viewers on a first-come, first-serve basis for the 32-minute documentary by James Blue.Mr Settje will greet guests, and discuss the documentary after the showing.
