Bermudian vet hits headlines in the UK

Bermuda-born veterinarian Bonnie Leibowitch has been credited with helping to save a puppy badly mauled by a fox in the UK.The attack made headlines in the UK’s Daily Mail after a Sandwell, West Midlands woman had to rescue her King Charles Spaniel puppy from a fox that snatched the animal off a garden patio.The pet, Max, was later treated at White Cross Veterinary Surgery, where Ms Leibowitch serves as director.Ms Leibowitch, who has worked as a vet for ten years, said she’d never seen such an attack before, adding: “Foxes can obviously be very dangerous — but to carry out an attack in broad daylight is very uncommon.”
