Motorists hoping to licence vehicles online have been left frustrated after the Transport Control Department’s website was hit by a technical glitch

According to a Government spokesman, the service crashed after a cable was cut, resulting in the internet service being severed.

The mishap means that, although the site can be accessed, staff cannot process licensing transactions online as the system is web-based.

The spokesman added that TCD will remain open for non-licensing transactions and the public will be informed once service has resumed.
