Bike crash riders are released from hospital

Two motorists injured in a collision on East Broadway in Pembroke on Thursday night have been released from hospital.

The accident, involving two motorcycles, took place at around 8.40pm near the Rubis gas station and Blue Water Anglers’ Club. Initial reports suggest that the two motorists were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.

A police spokesman said that the victims — a 47-year-old Hamilton Parish man and 46-year-old Warwick man — were initially understood to have suffered serious injuries, but have now been discharged from hospital after receiving treatment.

Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact the main police telephone number on 295-0011.

Last night police also confirmed that a driver injured in a two-car collision on Middle Road in Devonshire in the early hours of Thursday morning was recovering from his injuries in hospital.

The 49-year-old Devonshire man is in a stable condition on a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. The other driver involved had already been treated and discharged.

Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact PC Maria Peterkin on 295-0011.
